Campagnolo has gone off the beaten track to offer a brand new design adapted to the needs and constraints of Gravel for a 13-speed single chainring drivetrain. This specific staging makes it possible to reduce the gaps in development between the cassette ratios, while benefiting from a gear ratio adapted to all terrain profiles.
The Ekar rear derailleur has a medium cage compatible with Campagnolo cassette teeth from 9-36 to 10-44. Differentiated tooth pulleys provide optimum operation and high chain retention. The tension of the latter is higher than on a derailleur dedicated to the road for better chain retention reliability and minimum operating noise. A forward clevis locking system is offered to facilitate the removal of the rear wheel. Campagnolo has also focused on strength, durability and lightness, for reliable operation and to withstand shocks, sand and dust, while stainless steel bolts are used for long-term strength and resilience in the most difficult conditions.
