The crankset is the heart of the new 1x Ekar system, with its chainring options covering a wide range of uses.

The single chainring is obviously easy to use: no front derailleur, considerably reduced weight, fewer moving components that pick up dirt and can create blockages, and high chain security, without unnecessary chainring stacking. A perfect solution for gravel courses. The two cranks made of UD carbon fiber are fitted with AISI 630 steel semi-axles: as with the entire Ekar group, the ingenious combination of materials makes it possible to obtain light components, but whose efficiency and resistance are maximum. The new ProTech technology combines the two semi-axles inside the bottom bracket, with a single resistant screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing is located on the crank, fixed on the semi-axle, for optimal rolling efficiency and resistance and to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance, without having to disassemble the cups.

Four chainring options are available: Adventure 38T; Pure Gravel 40T; Fast Gravel 42T and eGravel 44T. Their optimized design ensures efficient transmission and maximum chain reliability. The light and resistant 7075 aluminum chainrings are easily interchangeable: just unscrew them from the four branches of the crank arm without having to disassemble the crankset. The four branches, arranged asymmetrically for optimal load distribution, have a BCD of 123 mm. Changing chainrings is a simple and effective way to change gears when tackling different types of trails. The Ekar crankset has four possible crank lengths – 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm – to suit all cyclists and all types of bikes. For some gravel bikes with low bottom bracket, shorter cranks are used the most to avoid ground contact in unpredictable terrain. A Q-Factor of 145.5mm provides a comfortable and efficient riding style no matter your height. The UD carbon temples feature removable protective caps to keep the components looking like new no matter what terrain you face.
